DOWNLOAD Steklo Skin for FM 2008

Steklo is considered the best skin released so far for FM 2008. And thus, we bring it to you!

Steklo, in case you were wondering, is the phonetic pronunciation of the Russian word for glass.

It comes with both left and right hand side versions, each with a choice of 3 backgrounds (grass, a black lacquered wood effect and a Vista style backdrop).

This is version 1.3 and probably the final one.

How to use it:
1. Extract the downloaded zip file.
2. You will see 3 folders. Copy 'steklo' folder, which the default skin with the bar on the right, in C:\Documents and Settings\YourUsername\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\skins
3. Open FM2008, go to Preferences > Display & Sound. You should be able to see the Steklo skin in the skins selection
4. Confirm

Search for TomDixon77 in Google!
Search for FM2008 Skins in Google!

   I can't get this to work. I've downloaded it but the skin doesn't appear as an option. Any suggestions?

   Extract the downloaded zip file. You will see 3 folder. 1 of them is called 'steklo', which the default skin with the bar on the right. Copy this folder in C:\Documents and Settings\YourUsername\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\skins

   I downloaded the file, and extracted steklo-left file in the proper position, but if I choose the skin on the game, the game become frozen..;;;;

   i wondered at first but if you look on the config xml file it uses what ever is called 'default'. i cut all the backgrounds i didnt want into another folder just i case i wanted the, for use leter.
   
   then finally re-name your choice default and reload you skin choice. done

   what killerdanfm said but to make it easier, there should be a map with 'backgrounds' the one you want to use should be named as 'defualt'.

    i dont like it when you load up with the star with steklo in the middle i would use it if it didnt have that

    you can change that. dont remember exactly where it is, but just search through the files in the skin folder and u should see the picture of that star

    I've copied it into the skins folder, but then i went on FM and went on preferences, dispaly and it wasnt an option, only FM Defaul and FM Right Sided

    gp24: you might need WINRAR to extract most or some of the 'zipped' files thats you find on the net. just search for 'winrar' on google and you shoudl easily find it.
