Summary: A more powerful server is needed to handle the heavy traffic of this site
The server is experiencing an unexpected high load. I thought it was because of poor configuration. So, I hired an expert team to do the server optimization. However, they told me this dedicated server is not enough to handle such heavy traffic and I will have to buy a new one, more powerful and of course much more expensive.
The new server will be a Dual Xeon 2.8GHz with 2GB RAM, 2 SCSI Hard Drives and 100mbps uplink. It will cost around $300 per month.
If you are in a supportive mood, any donations would be greatly appreciated. In fact, I'm willing to giveaway up to 100 email addresses @fmscout.com with 5GB each and the power of Gmail to the first 100 who will donate $10 or more.
It's been a really tough week with lot of expenses on the table. I hope problems will end soon and we'll be able to enjoy fmscout.com in all its glory again.
