hmm.. that's unbelievable! As far as I can remember, my players never got 10 even though he scored 4 goals in a match. But, I admit I was wrong then.. The screenshot tells everything! it's possible although it's not often the case. Cheers fella to show me I'm the deluded one..

Anyway, regarding under performing players.. How do you guys think about Ivan Rakitic? Has anyone ever got him for your club?
I've got him in 3 different clubs and based on his stats he's supposed to be a fairly good player. Granted his transfer fee is always cheap he never really seems to perform and show his class by having some good technique attributes..

nah, but what i have learned over the years at fm is that always try to buy the same players that i am familiar with.
i dont go for a good looking player on fm, i think out of all my signings i probably have at most 3 who dont make it.
but it might be a player thing that he just sucks, or that you havent given him the personal instructions that suit him...

Rakitic is overrated.
In reality he plays well.
In my game Newcastle bought him and he mostly sits on the bench.
When he plays, he mostly got 6 and doesn't score much goals.
I think that he is good in a weaker team, like Schalke, but
in a strong, major european team, I guess he can't stand the pressure.

that's it szymcio! I've got the same impression as well..
He never gets 8 or at least a consistent performance through the season and that makes me start to think he's somewhat overrated.

Samir Nasri is better than Rakitic.
G. Higuain can play as AMC and he can be a good
connection between midfield formation and attacking formation.
He's very versatile player, but not cheap

In my barca game where i won with 7-1 from real madrid (yes 7-1 :D!!) i had 4 10's 6 9's and 3 8's.
So its definetly posible

Oh and about hte underpreforming players. Xavi is one of those.
in a 4-2-3-1 tactic (basicaly with barca plays too) his average is a 7 while hes a key player for barca... and if you ask me messi should score more overall.
Dos santos on the other hand, damn that kids good. Stats are ok but he can assist and score like noone could in my game :o

i have realised one thing.
there is no such thing as "underperforming"
haha, well it is that some players just arent that good.
but u have to give ur players the right instructions, some wont adapt easily etc etc etc etc.
if u get many of these things right u will most probably get a good team.
i usually like to have players from the same country as i manage, then i like to have "teamplayers, determined and loyal players", this is a good thing, your team will play as a TEAM and its easier for the determined lads to work them back and win or draw matches even though 2-0 down etc.
its hard to get these players with great mentality as there technichal abilities, but i dont often get "underperforming" players, it might be that they might not start well or something but in the end most of the players i buy or have they do their job

There are 2 particular stats you can check with genie or other data editor that have a lot to do with a player's performance.
It's important matches and consistency. I try get player who have at least 12/20 on both those stats. If you get a player with very high consistency, it is almost sure that he will have 7+ rating in any match no matter the instructions.
