Pretty much all the posts i see here for acquiring top players is for upper league teams, I'm starting out as MK Dons in the bottom league and i could really do with some advice as to who which signings would do well for me and how to play them as this can make all the diference. I'd really appreciate some help, as i'm struggling at the monent with expectations to get promoted by the board

well simple really. dont do anything

but in the players search, take away "unrealistic" targets, and then u will get a list of players that will most probably come to ur team.
well buy a few from there. i usually do it that way and it helps.
2ND: go to championship teams or maybe even premier league teams, check their reserves try to loan players. even buy maybe the likes of Tom Heaton a goalkeeper even good for a league one side.
thats how i build up a team, mostly the loanies and the buys from the likes from championship reserves etc are good enough for league two league one, and u will be able to make it into those divisions, once there u move onto buy better players duh.

Yeah i've been going to the premiership reserves trying to get some decent players the club generally accept the offers but the players never want to come . Can you give me some decent scouting tips?? Or specific players that would be good to bring there's so many players out there its hard to separate the good from the bad, even on stats the players that look good sometimes turn out to be garbage

Igor Lolo is a good dependable centre-back and is good for any Championship team and, from my own personal experience, Premiership. Stats aren't great but he's one of those players that always seems to play great. I'm not sure if he goes to clubs lower than Championship but there's no harm in finding out.
Found him when managing Germinal Beerschot in FM 2006.

hey just create filters with important attributes like this.
Position - Important Characteristics
Goalkeeper - Reflexes, Handling, Communication, Jumping
Wing Backs - Positioning, Tackling, Pace, Anticipation, Stamina
Left/Right Defenders - Positioning, Tackling, Pace, Anticipation
Central Defenders - Tackling, Jumping, Positioning, Heading, Strength, Marking, Bravery, Teamwork
Attacking Wingers - Pace, Dribbling, Passing, Off the Ball, Creativity, Crossing
Attacking Midfield - Passing, Off the Ball, Creativity, Technique, Dribbling
