its simple, he has seen many players do well and they have made his squad. unlike beckham who hasnt shown shit.
i think this is a good thing wich mcclaren didnt dare to do. going for the players who are doing well and give em a chance.

Hopefully Lampard won't ever make it back so Gerrard will be able to do what he does best rather than mopping up what Lampard does wrong while Hargreaves can do all the dirty work but if Gerrard messes up again just write him off for England.
I don't see why he wants to play Rooney though, Crouch (or Heskey when fit) and Owen is a great partnership which always ends up in goals while Rooney usually messes stuff up in an England shirt. He doesn't work well with anyone up front, he may be one of the best players England has but he has no place in the team.

he is a class player, his work rate is magnificent. and he had done really well in the english shirt tbh. you might hate him because ur a liverpool fan but it doesnt mean that he is a bad player.

kuyt in my opinion is a good player, he works hard and helps the team alot. but to be honest he lacks quality.
thats the difference between him and rooney, because rooney does the hard work plus he has got quality.

i know many slate kuyt because he doesnt have much qualities. but he does much for the team anyways.
I think Rooney working rate was fantastic last night and he always asked for the ball and looked threatening. Such a shame he didn't hit the back of the net. Crouch, however, offered something different when he came in and they looked like a different team.
Micah should have played instead of Wes Brown. Many times WB caught napping by Barnetta, plus he gave the ball away needlessly. Ashley Cole has loads to do to improve his game. Bentley and Joe Cole looked lively. Barry was a bit edgy and didn't cover the ground that much as he was supposed to do so.
Gerrard was a bit in hurry with his pass but couldn't complain more as he was involved in creating two of the england's goals. Rio was a rock in the defence, though he could have done better to minimize the equalizer. All in all, it was a decent performance under the new manager but things must improve especially in defense if they want to succeed at the highest level in 2010! =)
