hehe i know,but i did not have enough midfielders,so i had to do like that.and the other thing is that my defenders are too weak,so arsenal would crush me.i know, i tried.

the thing is,i did not believe that 3-2-2-1-2(Arsenal) and 1-4-1-1-2-1 would work,but they are very good.note that these formation are good for a short time or for some hard games.

just want to say,these formations are good,because they are defensive,and in attack they are very offensive.

of course instructions is important thing,and very important advice about that is KEEP IT SIMPLE.

to be honest bole, i am too tired to put on fm at the moment but the main things to have for a good DM:

positioning, passing, tackling, work rate, team work, stamina.

and heading if possible(if u really want a good defence that is).

positioning is very very important because he is the one to be filling up at the back, and in that way if u play with a diamond formation and letting ur full backs a bit attacking then ur defensive midfielder has to be set to mentality: "defensive", and normal creative freedom, this with creative freedom might be a bit harsh considering that many midfielders are good passers and usually creative even though defensive, BUT he will be controlling much of the play trust me, and if he gets the freedom he will loose the ball too often.

i had huddlestone as my DM in my ipswich team, he is not the best i know, but it worked really well. otherwise hargreaves is the best with gattuso(the best defensive mids).

i had Eguren(from hammarby) in my first season at ipswich he is a really good defensive midfielder for a lower league team. gets many red and yellow cards though.

by the way i just realized i had BOUGHt Veloso, perfect defensive midfielder for a diamond formation.

thats quite so good bole, positioning is quite so important though, would be better if he had 20 , but for me it worked with huddlestone who i think has 16 in positioning.

Well, I started a new game, yet again.
I paid attention to every detail from scratch,
especially the tactics, and it paid off.
I won my first 5 games, but...

yet again, on exactly the 6th match the same players that one match previous were beating better teams quite easily,
simply would not play. I expected this as it happens every
game I play in.

I checked they were not tired, I checked they were happy,
morale is very high, they are all in superb condition
and my tactics worked splendidly in my last 5 games without a hitch.

Of course, I know you can`t keep it going long, esp with a young side like Spurs, but it is the manner of the loss, and the following losses against even lesser opposition does not make sense.

As I knew this would happen I saved the game off after my fifth win.
To try and find out what the problem is replayed match 6 with a totally different team and tactics, same result, I wouldn`t mind if they played well and lost, I`d blame my tactics, but the loss is so far out f context it doesn`t make sense.

Looking at the team after the fifth game I can only see two possible reasons for this strange collapse, neither of which I am convined is the problem.

Internationals:
Most of my first team played in Internationals after game 5,
so I replayed game 6 giving the ones that had played a day off training,
or left them out of the team, they still played bad and lost.

The only other change I can see is a lot of injured players coming back into training, key players like King\lennon\Dawson, I would of thought the team that I had been playing would play even better knowing their places were at risk rather than give in?

I am at a total loss as to why this happens every time, the timing is bad as it means going out of the Euro and League cups in the first matches
and the players go into a huff and play terrible for a long time afterwards.

I really hope S.I hasn`t put a routine in that stops you doing well in the first season or something? Surely that would be against the spirit of the game? And would make it pointless to play for me.

Any ideas anyone?
