Apparently there is a way to set up you own league on FM 2008. You can put in the teams of your choice-as many as you like.

This is possible right? If so how do you do it?

Thanks.

well, you can do that with Data Editor(comes with the game).
you can modify some of the playable leagues as you like.

in the editor. the official fm editor that is.

should be on your "start menu" map of Fm2008. shouldnt be hard to find. run it, load your databas, and work youself around.

i dont know if you can 'create' a new league but you can take one league that u dont care about and change it completley.

Excuse the double post but if I edited nobody would notice.

Can someone do me a guide through it all. I'm having difficulties on editing the database so if anyone can tell me in great detail what to do I'd appreciate it very much.

Thanks.

I dont think you will be able to make a league with all the major clubs because you can only swap teames from the same country (for example you can swap Watford for any Premier division team, like Man City but i think that you cant swap Watford with Valencia of Lille). Maybe if you change the nationality of a team, but then you will have to change city and venue and of course division.I havent tryed it so i dont now will it work...

well tell me what are you having difficulties with, i think i can help you with something cause i now a thing or two about the editor

In fm 2007 i created ex-yugoslavia league witha all the strongest clubs from Slovenia, Macedonia, BiH, Serbia and Croatia.
In just few years I got extra champions cup place and two more euro cup places.

One thing that you shouldn't forget is that most clubs only have rival clubs from their own country because they play in the same league, so when adding clubs make sure that you set some new rival clubs. It will make your new league more interesting. For example i set Dinamo, Hajduk, Crvena Zvezda and Partizan for fierce rivals. I also added rivalry for some smaller clubs. Don't make to many fierce rivals, or to many rivals for one club because it will be constantly on the news and it may effect the money that clubs receives from tv broadcasts. And if every match is a derby and a team loses 3 or 4 of them you will have clubs constantly replacing managers. Don't forget to raise leagues reputation.

If you are careful with the details you can create a great league and have a lot of fun.

I created a European Super league in FM2007 with no problems what so ever and played with this for about 7 seasons.

Some tips when creating things like this - I used the English leagues as my base and got a list from the UEFA website of the top ranked European Clubs and used these teams to swap with the English ones. I went from Premier Division down to Conference South.

I altered the league names and the award names.

I wanted to try and stop the top four in the Premier League qualifying for the Champions League but could not figure out how to do this. there was a field where you could untick European competitions but when i did this and played the game, the teams still managed to qualify for Europe.

it is good fun but it looks odd when the likes of Grimsby get through to the Champions League quarter finals.

Sorry Rafa - but it is time to go!
