hello,
sorry if this has been covered before but I couldnt find anything...
basically I've been happilly playing the game now and am on my 7th season but I've hardly sold a player and end up having to release them on a free at the end of their contracts and I really dont understand why!? I've even tried touting them around for £0 but still no luck. In previous versions of the series buying & selling has been the most enjoyable part of the game. Obviously I have no trouble buying but I have a load of players that have performed well for me that I just cant get rid of once I have a replacement! Help?

i cant help you becuase the exact same thing happens to me, i normally have about 10 good players that i never use now i have better players.

yeh i find it hard to sell players as well.
but i have never had a first team player that i have not been able to sell. i might have had a few reserve players that arent that good and probably will just go on free.
but if a club wants a player you got to negotiate well ;)
if u have a bit of younger players its easier to sell em(loan them), than it is to do with older players.

make sure you set them for transfer and put not needed that improves you chances

Doh! Fair enough, thought it may be a bug. was always a lot easier on the previous versions and I used to just buy up decent players willy nilly & sell on for a profit. I guess those days are over with FM08!
I obvoiously never have problems selling my top first team bods just dont want to. its hard enough getting them to come to Palace in the first place withour letting em go when we're getting somewhere!

I also found that if a player has no interested clubs, you wont be able to sell him, no matter how good he is or how low the price is.
You can try to loan him out (that can succeed sometimes even if there is no interested clubs) and at the end of the loan they might wont to buy him.
