incorrect. He played professional football as a defender with RC Strasbourg as a matter of fact! I was wrong in saying he never played footie before. But, hopefully you get the idea.. Thanks for the correction.

ermm.. He never was a player/manager. According to my resource, he got his manager's license at the age of 32 and became the coach of the Strasbourg's youth team and took over Nancy 3 years later. But his first medal came from AS Monaco in the first year he took over..
