I did some kind of research for finding cheap and prospective DMC players. And there are some results:

Simon Walton
Club: Hull
Age: 19
Price: $375K
Price is great for a player of such calibre. Physically strong DMC.

Mark Ellis
Club: Bolton
Age: 18
Price: $1.7M
Young age, cheap price

Stelvio
Club: Braga (POR)
Age: 18
Price: $16K
Lowest ever price for good DMC in Football Manager 2008!

Distel Zola
Club: Monaco (FRA)
Age: 18
Price: $325K
Price is very low also!! Good Determination!

Matthew Spiranovic
Club: Nurnberg (GER)
Age: 19
Price: $1.2M

Good price. Great aerial abilities. Superb determination - 20.

Ignacio Camacho
Club: Atletico (SPA)
Age:17
Price: $1.5M

Tight marking DM of very young age. Good Natural Fitness, Work Rate

Bit of a long shot, but Bouba Diop is very useful at Defensive Midfield. Dannielle Dessena and Marco Donadel are also very useful acquisitions!
