Can't be said to be a total free transfer, you can approach to sign him at the start of the game and he will go to pretty much anyone above League 2. Didn't play him until my 2nd season in the Premiership (3rd with Watford) when my leading striker wouldn't resign I was forced to start him and he got 26 goals, while turning into a wonderkid. All the big clubs were offering 15+ million for him by the time he was 21.
