well assist manager should have good tactical knowlege and 7 stars in at least one training category, also motivating if he handles your team talks and working with youngsters as he managers your under 18 team.. can't remember any good assist manager so i can't reccomend any...

My opinion is, your assistant is what you make them - I don't think there is an ultimate assistant manager in FM!

I love my assistant manager and have stuck by him for over 10 years and took him from Sweden to England yet his attribute are nothing special.

I ask his advice during team talks and he has a 7 star training in tactics and shooting.

He does his job that's all I ask.

I think assistant managers are overrated in the game and not as good as they were in FM07.

But that what I mean!

I choose or took my assistant because of what he said in team talks and the fact he was 7 star in 2 training categories. Like I said, your assistant is what you make them.

It's not realistic, if we are honest, they don't come to you and say 'what if we do this, or if we do that!?!'

He doesn't do anything unless we (the manger) tell him to!

i have assistant managers with high attributes in: working with youngsters, determination, motivation, and tactics. probably also, judging CA and PA ability.

those are the main attributes i look at. the rest is just a bonus .

thing is i only let my assistant control the friendlies, reserves and youths. and he does slight amount of scouting, like team report and such.

he doesnt do much else than that!
