Problem loading game in FM GENIE scout

Hi
When ever i try to load a game with the new genie scout i get the following error.

The current version is beta 2 build 83.
IMPORTANT: Tested and not working if you have the option "Compress Save Games" enabled in the Game Preferences. So, disable that, save your game again and Genie should work.
NOTE: From what we understand, if you start a new game with Patch 8.0.1 and any DB, Genie Scout 2008 will work. However, it shouldn't work if you use 8.0.0 or 8.0.1 with a game started in 8.0.0.

i am also haveing problems with loading a game
firstly when i try to load a game it asks me to save it and not load???
and then i get this error message
i have read these posts and i am running a new game on version 8.0.1 patch with saved games compressed unticked

after you unticked the "Compress Save Games", did you Save your game again??
I was getting the same error before I did that.

All I did was to disable the compression option, re-save my game, which is new 8.0.1, and then load save game in Genie. I'm on XP if this means anything.
It is for sure that Genie is not bug-free yet, as this version is not even official yet.
I guess more beta testers for Eugene

My version is: 8.0.1 114310 I'm re-save my game with unticking. Whats the problem?

your game was started with 8.0.0 and then upgraded to 8.0.1 or is it a new game loaded with 8.0.1?
By the way, I have version 8.0.1.114310
Which is the latest official 8.0.1 patch. Make sure you have this one and not one of the beta patch 1 or beta patch 2

in theory, that should be the most likely scenario.

hi,
I do not know what happen but when I try to load my game using genie, it says that my game is not a valid FM file. I have disabled the "compress saved game" but it seems that my saved game can not be loaded either.
I am using the patch 8.0.1
Any recommendations about my problem??hope you can get me through this problem.

maybe you have WSM08 instead of FM08? I know this wasn't an issue with WSM07 and FM07 and Genie2007, but in this version there is a potential bug there, and users are reporting that it doesn't work with WSM08.

maybe you have WSM08 instead of FM08? I know this wasn't an issue with WSM07 and FM07 and Genie2007, but in this version there is a potential bug there, and users are reporting that it doesn't work with WSM08.

Mine is FM08. my version is 8.0.1 114310. is that the new version?coz, I have downloaded the patch from this site and then run the patch.after i run the patch, my version is as written above. I have unticked the "compress save file" and I have confirmed and save the new one. I have followed this forum's intructions and it seems that i still get the same problem. Any ideas?

Hi arie,
Yes this is the new version.
All that you do is correct, but is your game started before you applied the patch?
Because in order for this Genie Scout version to work, you have to start a new game after the patch.
If this is not the issue, I'm out of ideas. I'll be checking upon other users to see for more possible solutions or errors.

Hi arie,
Yes this is the new version.
All that you do is correct, but is your game started before you applied the patch?
Because in order for this Genie Scout version to work, you have to start a new game after the patch.
