what are the most important attributes for a goalie to stop PK??

i'm guessing that anticipation and one-on-ones

i've won on pk with romania in the confederations cup semi final and my goalie stopped 3 pks.i was just wondering

PS:and probably reflexes has something to do with that if the pk taker shots hard near the goalie.

Well probably what you said, reflexes, anticipation, not sure about one-on-ones... And it also depends on a shooter as well, maybe you just had luck or all good penalty takers were on the bench or didn't play...

it doesn't really matter as its is 50/50 which way they go

its not just 50/50 and its nut just if youre lucky or not.since the game should be as real as possible than i might say that its about stats.ive been playing as a goalie since i was 14 with my mates and ive developed a "system" with allows me to have an edge over the pk taker using anticipation, one-on-ones and reflexes.its not full proof of course but after ive started to use my "system" i found out that im saving more pk than i did before.so, i really dont think its about luck.

believe me...it is.u just dont jump in one direction.u have to take in consideration a lot of things.it took me a lot of time to see the "clues" and the "signs".its a combination of those 3 attributes and every good goalkeeper in the world has his own way of stopping the shots.

yea but i usually dive the same way and i saved 3 pens in a row ( i will mention the fact they scored straight after each of those from stupid defense) and sun isn't one of the rules see which foot they prefer to hit with?

they can shoot in any direction regardless of the foot.but you can see what is thyr position.for example...if the pk taker is right footed and hes staying more in the center rather to the side than it is more likely that he'll shoot in your right corner or in the center of goal.if he stays more to the side than he will probably shoot in your left corner.be very careful applying this rule cause its a very basic one and its known by most of the pk takers.use it when the pk taker is not so good at football and doesent have much experience.
