can you be a good scout in real life by using fm and genie scout?

well i think the answer to that is "yes"
there are many players that i used to buy in cm and fm that were unknown to the general public and now they are great promises or great players.
if you want some examples: tevez - man utd; diego - werder bremen; robinho - real madrid and some more that i don't remember right now
but here are two portuguese young talents: helder barbosa and vieirinha... remember the names i think someday they'll be very popular

not exactly scout.

the only thing you will gain is some knowledge about players around the world.

scouting is more about knowing of a players in and out. not just knowing the general stuff about him.

but u admit that this game could be a useful tool.you can take a look at players stats and if u find one interesting in the game u can go to his club and watch him play in real life.i know that u cant be a scout just by relying on fm and genie scout but i think that it could be useful tools

yeh of course it is slightly useful to be able to tell what type of a player he is.

but you cant always trust fm and genie.

i mean if you watch a player play a few times, and then compare what you have seen with fm stats and such. you will see that some things are wrong etc etc.

I would say that you can't thrust in the scout 100% but you can find some promising players and send scouts in the real world. I found Morais in FM 2007(or 2006, I'm not sure) using scout when he was largely unknown to people and now he's targeted by a number of clubs. I expect that he will be know Europe wide in 3-4 seasons.

talented performer

like everybody else said cant trust it 100% but in fm07/06 i found teixera from vasco very promising but still unknown to the real world just imagine buying the game giving to the manager of a club next minute the prems got youngsters starting that are 16 ( here you go sven)

You can gain some knowledge about the players, but I'm not sure that FM is even 80%right...

But I'm playing FM for many years now, and while playing with Serbian clubs I found out many good, young Serbian players, no one has heard of... For example, in FM07 I played seven years with Partizan and there were a lot of good youngsters at the start of the game who became great players, and now, in real life, all of these youngsters play in U17 and U19, some of them even in U21...

young serbian players are very good in the game.i usualy try to have at least one affiliated team from serbia to find those young players.

Yes, we have some good youngsters...

Wait, can you choose from which countries you want yours affiliated clubs?
I never had one from Serbia unless I was a Serbian club...

when i start the game with man utd i usually apply for an affiliated club and i get red star amongst other clubs.but i have to do this at the start of the game, if i delay it for 2-3 months i dont get red star cause probably they raise theyr reputation and are too big to be my affiliated club.sometimes i get partizan and another team witch i forgot its name(has sky blue colours i think) but i always get red star at the start of the game.
about the choosing part.....after you'll win some trophys with the club the board will let u choose witch type of affiliated club u want: for an international loan, for money, for buying players form that club etc.

Sky blue with white stripes - OFK Beograd...

I know but you can't choose a club from a certain nation, can you?

Why is the name of Red Star translated into English? The club is called Crvena Zvezda (which literally means Red Star)
