Does any of you uses free role ?
I used it for my AMC,but i think that free role can be assigned to any player.

I have some ideas.
Of course player with high creativity and passing should play free role.
I have idea to put my DM to play free role.
He would have freedom to run where he wants,i mean he will not stick to his position,and in attack he will be more creative.

Then i remembered Franz Beckenbauer.He played SW,of course that position is not used in today football like in his time.He was great at defence,clearing balls and when he gets ball he come forward and make great passes,even goals.he just played free role.of course,this require a defensive formation.5-3-2…..

Now,i will try it in my games,but i realy do not have SW or DC that have high creativity,and passing,so if anyone have,try it and give me your thought about his plays.


About DM,AM I think it would be very succesful,I will try it in my game , of course , you are not going to give free role to player like Gattusso.

Note that free role gives them free moving around the pitch,but players that play it tires more quickly

yeah i usually set my att mid to free role, at times the strikers or the wingers.

depends on how freely u want some of ur players to be in some matches.

yh, good thinking no doubt, but then i might just give my DM the free role it works the same way i spose. more modern as well eh? :P

just tried the free role with my DM.

it helped me with it filling up more positions than it usually does, but then i play with an AM so at times the DM position is left out and gives more freedom to other teams at times.

but if u play with a MC or 2 MC, then i spose having a DM with free role is perfect.

i play a 4-4-2 diamond formation so it was great to see the DM filling up more of the right left positions. but it left out in the center because of me using a AM.
