FM26 Moneyball Scout is a free, browser-based scouting and decision tool for Football Manager 2026 — built on the Moneyball principle: maximum value per euro spent. Import your squad CSV and instantly know who to sign, why, at what price, and what the risk is.

HOW IT WORKS

Export your player list from FM26 as a CSV using the built-in view export. Drop it into the tool. No login, no installation, no server. Everything runs locally in your browser. Takes about 10 seconds.

FEATURES

OVS Score – a 7-component scoring system built from Performance, Cost Efficiency, Market Value, Age Curve, Reliability, Upside and Risk. Hover over the gauge to see exactly what drives the number.

Deal Score (0–100) – the tool's final verdict. 98/100 = No-Brainer Deal. Combines performance, market inefficiency, wage efficiency, age, risk and resale potential into one clear decision.

Executive Summary – appears immediately after import. Shows: Best Steal, Hidden Gem of the day, Immediate Impact signing, Resale King, most overpriced player and best wage efficiency. Each card shows the actual player name, key stat and a concrete action.

Why Buy / Risks – dynamically generated for every player. Explains the specific reasons for and against signing, based on their actual data — not generic text.

Market Inefficiency – shows how far below or above fair value a player is priced, in percent. A player at 74% below market value is a steal worth acting on immediately.

Head Scout Report – reads like a real scouting report, not a data dump. Covers: why the market is wrong, why now is the right time, system fit, risk assessment and a concrete transfer recommendation including price limits.

Hidden Gem Analysis – explains exactly why a player is classified as a Hidden Gem (small league, low media exposure, favourable contract situation, etc.) with up to 6 individual reasons.

Budget & Transfer Efficiency – Fair Value, Recommended Fee, Never Pay Above, Estimated ROI, Break-Even, Resale Potential and Value for Money rating all in one panel.

Similar Players – comparable players with difference chips showing where they are better or worse (more pace, better passing, 4x more expensive, higher risk, etc.)

Compare View – top players side by side across all key metrics. Best values highlighted automatically.

Scout Reports View – full standalone report for any selected player.

Hidden Gems View – all undervalued players in a card grid with confidence rating and key reasons.

Bilingual – full DE / EN support. Switch language in Settings.

Filters – position (populated from your CSV), age range, max budget, league, plus quick presets: Top Steals, Wonderkids, Immediate Impact, Resale Kings, High Value, Low Risk.

WHAT YOU NEED

A standard FM26 CSV export using the player view export function. No special plugin required. Semi-colon or comma delimiter both work.

I have attached the view file that I use for my general scouting in Football Manager.

The tool can identify a player's position based on the available position and role data and then evaluates the player using position-specific logic. Performance metrics are weighted differently depending on the positional group, meaning that strikers are assessed using different key indicators than centre-backs, full-backs, or central midfielders.

The current version of the tool no longer relies primarily on CA/PA values. Instead, it focuses mainly on the actual performance data produced by players within the save, such as xG, xA, Key Passes, Chances Created, defensive actions, and other statistical outputs.

The goal is to create a data-driven scouting model based on Moneyball principles, where on-pitch performance is significantly more important than theoretical ability or potential.

The attached view file contains the columns and data fields currently used by the scouting model. It should therefore provide a clear overview of the data available to the tool and how that information is incorporated into the evaluation process.
