Regarding the reasons that people are registering for... well, I think all important material is free to get and watch for guests, while they could get the forum help by going to SI official forums instead.
Anyway, there are plans afoot to remove inactive accounts (people who haven't logged in for over 3 months) and also some very important members only new features that will hopefully lure more active members.
The site is constantly evolving and improvements are happening almost daily lately, so have a little faith

I'm def not inexperienced when it comes to forums, but took me 5mins to spot the Register Button... lol
That being said, i registered today and think the forums are informative and members are really helpful in resolving problems

btw...where is that damn button??i cant find it but i remember that i didnt had problems registering.prob back than i found the register button easy.
